“Magical and mystical” – two words manager Samantha Bedard uses to describe Castle Toys, a castle-themed toy store located near Chinook Centre. That sentiment is shared by first-time shoppers, Samantha says, who often emote "shock and wonder” when they walk through the front doors. “A lot of people don’t realize we are here,” Samantha says.

Walking into Castle Toys transports shoppers into a real-life fairy tale, as the shop is painted to look like the crenellations of a castle, with two murals decorating the walls on opposing sides. But surely the most exciting feature of the shop are the aisles of shelves stocked to the brim with all sorts of toys. A visit to Castle Toys is magical for the whole family – and has been since the store initially opened its doors in 1983.
